We Did Not Choose To Be Born...But We Can Choose Now!

I tell myself sometimes that if i was pre-informed about what to expect from life then maybe i would have chosen to stay back from where we came from or maybe choose never to grow or even choose to die younger...Oh yes i think all that! But am grown now and there is so much to live for,ranging from family to aspirations. I have now chosen not to fail myself. I used to look for who to blame for not telling me what this life was all about but truth is i cant blame no one. I have been enlisted in this life race without my consent...and so are we all.

Life presents us with too many options and no clue for what we should follow, only our conscience to guide us. Our parents give us religion with the hope that it will aid us to make good decisions, but in recent days i have seen a lot of people questioning our various religions(this is a topic for another day). We are at the mercy of our conscience and in a rather funny way our conscience is also at our mercy. What a life!

Lets skip the preamble, we are here already so lets do this life! We did not choose to be born but we are here already to run this race. The least we can do for ourselves is to make our stay here relevant. How do we do this? By choosing not to give up on ourselves. Find what motivates you and keep your motivation going. Do not wait for this life to finish without doing nothing.

A friend of mine was speaking with me last week and said an uncle told her she was not created to own her own business  because she wont be able to compete with already established businesses. She was already believing and was at the verge of shutting down her dreams. I told her He was wrong about her. The thing is the minute she takes his word, she has no one to blame for not being herself but only herself. So dont shut down yet because you have experienced a number of obstacles. There is still time to be relevant. There is still time to do different and do better. All you need to do is to take the time and live the time!

We did not have the opportunity to choose to be born but we now have the opportunity to choose how we will live! CHOOSE RIGHT!

What Name Do you Call Yourself?

Everything in the world has got a name, even the things that seem not to have any are still called something. Sometimes I wonder how this naming convention really works. But God has given man the sole right to name as he wishes.

When we are born, our parents call us names, some names are given based on the situation surrounding their birth, for example my middle name is OGUGUAMAKWA-it means literally 'You wipe tears off my eyes'. My paternal grand mother gave me this name based on her experiences with the girl child. And we are told that in one way or the other man gets to live his name and a number of people have told me I play the role most times .

A man gets 3 names, the name from birth, the name the society calls you and the one you call yourself. The last one is the most important one because we view you through your own self. Define yourself and that is how we will take you. There a lot of people with very great birth names but are living the opposite of those names. For example a girl whose name is Queen but carries herself waywardly in the society. So i do not completely agree with the saying that we all live our names. However we live the name we call ourselves. If you choose to enslave yourself to the name given to you by parents or society then that is what you totally become. But you can choose to call yourself the name that suits your purpose and live it and then the society will accept your new name. No one shapes your self like you. If you are no longer comfortable with how the society and family sees you then change your description.

The choice to be whom you want to be solely lies on you. Stop blaming situations for your condition, get up and work up. change your story, write it the way you want it to be read. Just remember that you are exactly what you call yourself and what you work yourself to be. You need to look yourself in the mirror and introduce yourself to YOU and see what you are!.
